Kick It! is an educational game that I made for Legends of Learning. It's a puzzle game where the objective is to destroy all blocks in a level. Blocks are destroyed by comparing fractions that have the same numerator or denominator.
Overall, this game has a much simpler concept than Reach for the Stars, which was the previous game I made for LoL. The simpler concept, combined with my experience with working with the LoL API, resulted in fewer headaches while making the game. Kick It! gave me its own share of frustrations though!
One of the biggest challenges of making a game for LoL is that the game's size is limited to 30 MB max. That usually means you have to make compromises to get the game approved. For example, I used a lot more fonts for different UI, but when I found out they took up a lot of space, I had to scrap most of them. Even with that size restriction, I've seen some impressive-looking games on the LoL platform.
The version that you can play on Legends of Learning's website has additional features, such as save states and Text-to-Speech. They're not available in this version because they use proprietary code. Sorry!
